HURRICANE BERYL UPDATE
OPEN FOR WING AND KITE LESSONS
As you may know, Union Island was hit by a major hurricane six months ago. The island is slowly recovering, and we wanted to share some important updates if you’re planning to visit.
All Lessons for Kitesurfing E-foiling and Wing Foiling are now available. Email to reserve
Flights to Union Island:
• From Barbados: Direct flights are available with www.flysvgair.com, allowing you to connect to Union Island without an overnight stay.
• From the USA & UK: International flights are available to St. Vincent. However, you’ll need to overnight in St. Vincent before taking a short morning flight to Union Island ~$60 USD one way per person) with www.flysvgair.com .
• By Ferry: There are ferry options available, though they take significantly longer.
Accommodation on Union Island
We have two accommodation options available, though our beach cottages were completely destroyed and will not reopen this season.
If you need assistance booking a stay, let us know.
Food & Dining
Most of our available accommodations include kitchens, but there are also a few dining options:
• Bougainvilla has reopened and is serving pizzas and drinks at their bar.
• A local restaurant within walking distance offers delicious homemade meals daily.
JT Pro Center & Kite Beach Operations
The JT Pro Center was completely destroyed, but we are now operating from a large tent on Kite Beach. The wind, the beach, and the incredible kite spots remain unchanged!
• We continue to offer rescue services, as well as launching and landing assistance for guests reserving their stay with us.
• Kitesurfing, Wing rentals, Excursions and downwinders as well as efoil lessons are also available.

Internet & Connectivity
• Most of our accommodations offer WiFi.
• The island has 4G LTE coverage for those needing mobile data.
While Union Island’s infrastructure was impacted, the wind, the beaches, and the incredible kiting experience remain as stunning as ever.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kite should I bring ? How is the wind in (particular month)?
From December to March the wind blows from 15-25 knots with a 20 knot average. From March to May the wind blows between 15-20 knots with an average of 18 knots. June is a pretty windy month with a good 22 knots average wind.
July has a little bit less wind (average 15 knots). August all the way to November is unpredictable for the wind, sometimes there is wind and sometimes not.
I never kited before, Can I come and launch from the beach?
Can I buy kite gear from you guys ?
How do I book kite gear rental?
We will also need the number of days as well as the dates you are interested in renting the gear.
We will send you a Paypal invoice that can be paid with a Paypal account or any credit card (if you do not have a Paypal account).
I cannot kite upwind yet, can I practice on my own at Kitebeach?
The Kiteschool offers Kitesurfing lessons and will bring you to a much easier spot to learn where a boat rescue is mandatory.
To make it simple, if you cannot ride upwind and you are planning on practicing alone, the spot is unfortunately not for you. If you are a beginner and would like to take lessons with us, you will progress faster than you can ever imagine and will have an amazing time at JT Pro Center.
I am Sailing around the Grenadines and would like to learn how to kite with you guys, how can I practice on my own after that?
After your kite course with us and if we feel that you are good enough to practice on your own, our instructor will give you the right tips on how to use your own dinghy with your helper to keep on progressing.
They will also direct you to the best spots to learn.
How do I book a Kite lesson?
We will send you a Paypal invoice that can be paid with a Paypal account or any credit card (if you do not have a Paypal account).
In case of no wind or if JT Pro Center is unable to do the lesson you will be 100% reimbursed.
Should I book one of your kite tours in advance?
The Prices for Mayreau and Tobago Cays kite tours vary between 120 US$ to 150 US$ per person Kitesurfing.
This is a full day tour, visiting several islands. Drinks, food as well as kite safety is included.
The prices for a half-day or a few hours tour to the nearby spots on Union island vary from 50 US$ to 75 US$ per person, and include the boat safety while on the spot.
